Sublimation direct printing

Sublimation direct printing

Sublimation is the expression in physics for the fact that a chemical substance changes from a solid state directly into a gaseous state without becoming liquid beforehand. Dry ice therefore sublimates when it evaporates, ice cubes would always first melt during evaporation. Sublimation inks are water-insoluble solids which then 'sublime' into the fibre by heat. After the transfer process, the ink application is no longer noticeable because the ink evaporates completely into the material. Prints made in this way are very insensitive, the goods can be sent folded and are even washable.
