IFR (permanent flame retardant)

All textiles used in public spaces must be flame-retardant - and usually durable. However, this is where the challenge lies, because fabrics that are finished in the usual way lose their flame retardant properties over time: they are not permanently treated with a salt-based flame retardant, which means that the flame retardancy, e.g. after washing, would be lost immediately.

Only polyester FR and Trevira CS fabrics, as we use them, are suitable in the long term and do not lose their flame retardancy even after several washes.
