Digital printing with latex inks was invented by HP and many materials and products for indoor and outdoor use can be printed, such as PVC tarpaulins, stickers, wallpaper, fabrics and textiles or various types of paper. Unlike solvent inks and UV inks, latex inks are water-based and contain no volatile solvents or other hazardous substances. Both the inks and the print are odourless, water-resistant and resistant to external influences. Often the high printing costs are mentioned as the only shortcoming.
